Toyin Abraham Vows to Keep Political Views Private After Backlash for Supporting Tinubu | Daily Report Nigeria

Toyin Abraham has vowed to keep her political views private after facing significant backlash on social media for supporting Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

The actress had been very vocal about her support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate. After Tinubu’s inauguration as president, Abraham reaffirmed her support for him in an open letter.

Last week, Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, expressed his loyalty to Abraham in return for her support for his father.

However, the actress faced new criticism on Tuesday when an X user asked if she would eventually share the president’s plans with the public.

“Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public,” the user asked.

“I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u @toyin_abraham1.”

Responding, Abraham said, “Of course, I was told and promised good governance and happiness for everyone and I believed.

“If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it? Because I remember I voted for Jonathan and I was bullied but I didn’t blame anyone after everyone chose Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time?

Subsequently, the user asked if she believed her candidate had failed at the moment in governance, Abraham, while dodging the question, said she had learnt her lesson never to be open with her political affiliation.

“I have faced my life and career cos I am not a politician and I’m not in government, I have learnt my lesson never ever to be open with my choice again,” the actress wrote.
