The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to unveil the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to the regional examination body, the 2024 WASSCE results will be released today, Monday, 12th August 2024.
WAEC acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, confirmed that the Head of the National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, will announce the release of the May/June 2024 WASSCE results from their Yaba headquarters.
This release marks 45 days since the final examination was administered.

According to Daily Report Nigeria, Dr. Dangut noted in April 2024 that of the 1.8 million students who sat for the exam, 902,328 (49.73 percent) were males and 912,016 (50.27 percent) were females. He said the candidates who sat for the examination were examined in 76 subjects, made up of 197 papers, while 30,000 secondary school teachers supervised the examination.
Dr. Dangut stated, “In tune with our recent tradition, the results of candidates sitting the examination will be released 45 days after the conduct of the last paper, while certificates will be printed and issued to schools in less than 90 days after the release of results.”
He also mentioned that the results will come with digital copies of the candidates’ certificates, which will be available on the digital certificate platform.
With the 2024 admission exercise already underway in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education following the education policy meeting’s conclusion, the WASSCE results release will assist many candidates aiming to secure admission in the current process.
Daily Report Nigeria notes that some institutions have begun admission processes and set dates for the Post-UTME screening/test.
