Fuel Tanker Bursts into Flame at Filling Station in Kwara | Daily Report Nigeria

A Tanker loaded with fuel has reportedly burst into flames at a filling station in Alapa town, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday.

According to Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Brigade, the fire incident occurred at about 18:19hrs at MM filling station along Kaiama road in Alapa town, though no life was lost.

The attention of Kwara State Fire Service was called on by one Engineer Rasaq.

Due to the terrible nature of the incident, the whole tanker had been razed to the ground before the firefighters arrived at the scene.

However, the firemen were able to put out the fire on time and also prevented the burning tanker from affecting the filling station.

He stated that the incident was caused by a mechanical fault in the petrol tanker.

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, Director of the state fire service, advised the general public to be more careful.

He also urged fuel filling stations to procure all the necessary safety equipment at their various stations.
