AFCONQ: Sweet Revenge as Nigeria Defeat Guinea-Bissau

1 Min Read

Nigeria got their revenge on Guinea-Bissau with a 1-0 win in Bissau on Monday to reclaim top spot in Group A.

The Super Eagles had suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to the Djurtus just last Friday.

Moses Simon’s first-half penalty was enough for Jose Peseiro’s men to win the match.

The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points, two points above Guinea-Bissau who are second with seven points.

It also ended a four-match losing streak for the three-time African champions.

Sierra Leone currently occupy third place with five points, while Sao Tome and Principe have just one point.
