The defender had a solid tournament, marshalling the Nigeria backline, which conceded just one goal from open play prior to the final.

Troost-Ekong also scored three goals, including the opener against the hosts in the final.

Though, the Super Eagles lost out to Ivory Coast 2-1 in the final, the former Watford defender was rewarded for putting up a decent show at Africa’s grandest soccer event.
