There is anxiety as the Delta State Governorship Election Tribunal is set to deliver judgement on Friday, September 29.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the electoral court will give judgment on petitions filed against the outcome of the election.

Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party was declared winner of the March 18 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to INEC, Oborevwori polled 360, 234 votes to beat his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 240,229.

Meanwhile, Labour Party’s candidate, Ken Pela, polled 48,047 votes to come a distant third.

Omo-Agege, Pela alongside the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Robinson Gbagi are challenging the declaration of Oborevwori as winner of the election.

Gbagi is challenging the conduct of the March 18, 2023 governorship election as well as the subsequent declaration of Oborevwori as winner of the election by INEC.
