Traders who were victims of the incident were seen wailing over their lost goods running to the hundreds of millions of naira.

The wailing traders pleaded with the Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki and other sons of the state to incline unto their aid, having lost their sources of livelihood.

Men of the Edo state Fire Service were branded with series of abuse over their inability to help put out the fire despite having their office situated close to the market.

They gave excuses of lack of water and moribund trucks for their ineffectiveness.

Daily Report Nigeria reliably gathered that the fire was finally put out following a combined effort of firefighters from the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) Limited, Airforce and the Edo state fire service.
