Breaking: Governor Fayemi of Ekiti Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has tested positive for the dreaded novel coronavirus, Daily Report Nigeria can confirm.

The Governor made the announcement on his COVID-19 status via a tweet on his official Twitter page.

The former minister declared that he has since gone into self-isolation and has dedicated critical tasks to his deputy.

He wrote, “I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive.

“I’m generally ok and I’m already self isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team.

“I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home.”

Governor Kayode Fayemi joins a long list of Nigerian state governors who tested positive for the lethal virus at different times. The list includes Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo amongst others.
