The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has expelled Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Kwankwaso’s expulsion was due to his failure to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee.

Kwankwaso was initially suspended at the National Convention on August 29 in Lagos, over allegations of anti-party activities and mismanagement of party/campaign funds.

The NEC had established a Disciplinary Committee and requested Kwankwaso’s presence to address the accusations within five days.
