The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of Educational Associated Institutions, and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAATS) of the University of Lagos members peacefully protested in front of the school’s gate on Wednesday.
While protesting, the SSANU, NASU, and NAATS blocked vehicular movement, hindering the free flow of traffic in the environment.
They sang and displayed various placards, registering their grievances with the Federal Government over their withheld salaries.

Checks revealed that for about a month, the JAC of SSANU and NASU called the government’s attention to its exclusion from the payment of the withheld salaries, which the government commenced payment for the Academic Staff Union of Universities in February.

The administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari withheld their salaries when it invoked a “No Work, No Pay policy” against the ASUU, SSANU, and NAATS, who embarked on a strike that lasted eight months, four months, and five-and-half months respectively in 2022.
NAATS also joined and began its three-day warning strike today after the Federal Government appealed to the SSANU and NASU to shelve the action.
