Buhari Appoints Semiu Adeniran New Statistician General of NBS

Mr. Semiu Adeyemi Adeniran has been appointed as the substantive Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS),

In a statement on Friday issued by Sufuyan Ojeifo, Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, the appointment made by President Muhammadu Buhari was with immediate effect.

This is coming following the death of the former Statistician-General of the Federation, Dr Simon Harry, on 13th April, 2022.

Mr Semiu Adeniran is a professional statistician of repute, who until his appointment was the Director of Demographic and Household Statistics at the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
