DSS Transfers Bawa to Private Facility

The Department of State Services (DSS) has transferred the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrashed Bawa from the head office in Abuja to a private facility.

The transfer came after Bawa refused to write any statements during his detention at the DSS “Yellow House.”

Reports held that the secret police moved him to another location to put more pressure on him to make the Former EFCC Boss write the required statement.

Bawa had reportedly told the DSS that it does not have the authority to detain him without charge.

Recall that Bawa has been in custody for more than three weeks with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Both were suspended shortly after President Bola Tinubu was installed as Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.

Bawa and Emefiele were accused of corruption and abuse of power, which they denied.
