Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has said Kai Havertz does not need to play for Chelsea any longer.
The 43-year-old held that the German striker has requited the money with which the Blues secured his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.
The former West Ham star revealed this amid extolling Havertz for helping Thomas Tuchel’s team to claim victory over Palmeiras on Saturday’s FIFA Club World Cup final.

The 23-year-old grabbed the winner for Chelsea after a 1-1 draw at full-time in a match held at Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.
Meanwhile, Havertz had also led Chelsea to lift last year’s Champion League trophy after scoring the single goal of the final match against the leaders, Manchester City.
With those two goals at both Champions League and Club World Cup, Havertz has been able to break Lionel Messi record that has been set 11 years ago.

Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel: “He [Kai Havertz] doesn’t have to kick a ball ever again in a Chelsea shirt, he’s repaid the £70m price tag now.”
“He’s scored two of the biggest goals in the history of the club.”
“Don’t have to do no more! Shut down, undo your boots, take ’em off, chill!”
“It’s not gonna happen but listen, if he doesn’t play another game for Chelsea, he goes down in folklore.”
