Fire Breaks Out in Ex-governor Shekarau's House in Kano | Daily Report Nigeria

A fire broke out at the Mundubawa country home of former Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, damaging the sitting room of his second wife, Halima Shekarau.

The blaze was believed to have started in the kitchen on Sunday night, but the exact cause remains unknown.

Firefighters from the State Fire Service battled to extinguish the flames.

A family source revealed that the fire began in the inner kitchen, but fortunately, it was contained to one sitting room.

The source said:

We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s sitting roomm and already the Fire Service officials are working to quench it.

The spokesperson for the State Fire Service confirmed the incident, stating that they were still on the scene, working to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas of the property.

The Spokesperson said:

We are still at the house and you know I cannot comment on anything now because we are still trying to make sure that the fire didn’t spread to other places.”
