Fuel Subsidy Removal: Bayelsa Govt Increases Salaries of LG Workers

Bayelsa State Government has taken decisive action to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal by increasing the salaries of Local Government workers.

The announcement was made by the state Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, during a meeting with local government stakeholders on Monday.

Starting in August, local government employees will receive wage awards to mitigate the effects of subsidy removal.

According to the announcement, Employees on grade levels 1-6 will receive an additional salary of N20,000, grade levels 7-10 will receive N30,000, and grade levels 12-14 will receive N40,000.

Furthermore, council employees on grade levels 15-17 will receive a wage award of N50,000, while Heads of Local Government will receive an additional salary of N100,000.
