Due to the terrible nature of the incident, the whole tanker had been razed to the ground before the firefighters arrived at the scene.

However, the firemen were able to put out the fire on time and also prevented the burning tanker from affecting the filling station.

He stated that the incident was caused by a mechanical fault in the petrol tanker.

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, Director of the state fire service, advised the general public to be more careful.

He also urged fuel filling stations to procure all the necessary safety equipment at their various stations.
