The race for the AFCON top scorers award is gathering serious momentum as Morocco’s Brahim Díaz sits at the summit, while stars like Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, and Ademola Lookman continue to apply pressure. With the tournament entering its decisive phase, goals are proving more valuable than ever, and the competition for the Golden Boot is far from settled.

Morocco midfielder Brahim Díaz has been the standout attacker so far, scoring five goals in five matches to lead the tournament. His sharp finishing and movement have been central to Morocco’s strong campaign.

Close behind him is Lassine Sinayoko of Mali, who has netted three goals in five games, sharing second place with fellow Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi, who has also found the back of the net three times.

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has scored three goals in four appearances, continuing to show his importance to the Super Eagles. He is joined on three goals by Ademola Lookman, whose pace and direct play have caused problems for defenders throughout the competition.

Egypt captain Mohamed Salah, Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, and Ivory Coast winger Amad have also recorded three goals each, keeping themselves firmly in contention for the Golden Boot.

Further down the list, Lyle Foster of South Africa has scored two goals in four matches, while Geny Catamo has been a key attacking presence for Mozambique.

Victor Osimhen recently summed up the mood of the competition, saying:

“At this stage of the tournament, every goal matters. We’re focused on winning as a team, and the goals will come.”
