Ijaw National Congress Calls For Registration of Members Worldwide

The Publicity Secretary of Ijaw National Congress (INC), Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, has said that registration for new membership of Congress is ongoing.

Oyakemeagbegha stated this during a chat with newsmen in Warri, over the weekend.

The Spokesman of Congress noted that the registration exercise is part of activities that make up preparations for the forthcoming elections into community, kingdom, zonal and chapter structures of the Ijaw apex body.

He said the 60 – day time frame to constitute the various organs of the organisation, including the Community, Clan, Chapter and Zonal executives, as well as the NRC, as promised by the President, Prof Benjamin Okaba in his inaugural speech was achievable.

The INC spokesperson advised Ijaw sons and daughters aged 45 years and above to register with Congress as a precondition to vote and be voted for.

Engr Ezonebi, while disclosing that time table for the elections would soon be released, assured Ijaw sons and daughters of the commitment of the Prof Okaba led National Executive Committee of Congress to dutifully serve Ijaw Nation.
