Ijaw National Congress North America Chapter Gets New Executives

The Ijaw National Congress in North America has successfully elected a fresh set of Executive members to pilot its affairs.

The election of a new leadership was overseen by an electoral committee spearheaded by Bishop Samson Amajene with the following people; David Solomon, Secretary, Preye Nikade, Treasurer, Mrs Mina Komonibo, Member and Mrs Timi Warikoru, Member.

The formation of the new Executive is in line with Article 17 of the constitution of the apex body in Ijaw nation.

The election produced Mr. Kenneth Anga Ibiene as Chairman, Pastor (Mrs) Jennifer Borel -Vice Chairman, Prof. Chris Abili – Secretary and Ronald Nkem Igbikiwubo as Assistant Secretary.

Others are Dr. Ibifiri Stella Fubara – Financial Secretary, Engr. Isaac ThankGod – Organizing Secretary
7) Mr. Zee Nagberi – Publicity Secretary, Attorney Timi Ogun – Legal Adviser, Mr. Amafini Ebikeme- Auditor, Mrs. Nyengiebi Akamande – Ex-officio Member.

Bishop Amajene in his remark, charged the new Executives to “work towards building a united Ijaw nation in America where zones are merged, harmonized and bonded together as an indivisible nation.”

He challenged Mr Ibiene and his executives to consistently roll out programs that will not only unite Ijaw nation, but also developing it.

“Work to see that you collaborate ideas and escalate same ideas to the leadership in Nigeria, the INC worldwide to ensure that Ijaw nation is better for it.”

Amajene further encouraged members of the INC in North America Chapter to give the new executives the needed support to thrive.

The clergyman, who expressed excitement that the INC was back to life in North America after a 7-year Interim Executive Committee, tasked other Ijaw bodies in the North America to work in tandem with the new leadership towards collective progress.

Amajene ended his remarks by commending the outgoing interim leadership led by Mrs Nyengiebi Akamande, for supporting cooperating with Electoral Committee to achieve its obligation.

The new Chairman, Anga said “together we can achieve our dreams and goals as Ijaw sons and daughters” while speaking on behalf of his cabinet.
