The National Elections Petitions Tribunal in Asaba has sacked the lawmaker representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Jonathan Ukohdiko.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Ukohdiko was sacked by the tribunal during its sitting on Monday in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The tribunal further ordered a re-run for Enwhe Ward 09 while directing that the Certificate of Return issued to Ukohdiko of the Peoples Democratic Party be set aside.

The judgment followed an approach by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Mr. Dickson Ebegbare, who insisted that Ukohdiko was not duly elected by lawful votes.

Ebegbare also argued that no election was held in Ward 09.

In another judgment, the tribunal sacked Francis Waive of the All Progressives Congress in Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.

Waive was sacked for failing to publish his educational qualifications on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s portal.

The tribunal then declared Solomon Ahwinahwi of the PDP winner of the February 25, 2023 election for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.
