Jose Peseiro Denies Speculations of Super Eagles Return, Confirms No Contact from NFF

Jose Peseiro

Jose Peseiro has denied rumors that he is in talks to return as the head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles. The Portuguese coach clarified his position during an interview with Soccernet.

Peseiro stepped down from the role earlier this year after his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expired in February. Following his departure, the NFF opened the position to new candidates, with names like Emmanuel Amunike and Michael Nsien reportedly being considered.

Additionally, three European coaches—Danny Bujis, Domenec Torrent, and Toni Conceicao—made it to the final shortlist for the role. However, rumors surfaced that Peseiro might be in discussions with the Ministry of Sports for a potential return.
