Ododo announced that Aiyedatiwa won in 16 out of 18 LGAs, with Ilaje LGA going to third-placed Oke. However, incidents of violence in Ifedore led to result cancellations.

Controversy surrounds the process, with aspirant Folakemi Omogoroye calling for its annulment due to alleged irregularities and the absence of election officials and materials at voting centers.

She said:

I am not going to accept it, and now, I am calling for cancellation and if this is not done, maybe we’ll meet in the court.”
