Navy Uncovers Illegal Refinery Sites in Ondo, Bayelsa

Navy Uncovers Illegal Refinery Sites in Ondo, Bayelsa | Daily Report Nigeria

On Saturday, the Nigerian Navy made some discoveries that led to the destruction of three refinery sites located in Ondo and Bayelsa States.

According to the Navy on X, the sites were found to be illegally refining crude oil, and the Navy estimated that they had about N85,000 worth of stolen crude oil stored in their facilities.

It added that Forward Operating Base IGBOKODA in Ondo State had identified and destroyed an Illegal Refining Site that was storing about 10,000 litres of stolen crude oil.

According to the statement, the refinery site was located in a riverine community within the Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.

Furthermore, in Bayelsa State, the Navy disclosed that Forward Operating Base FORMOSO had destroyed two illegal refining sites that were storing 75,000 litres of stolen crude oil.

In addition to the destruction of the sites, the Navy personnel also confiscated two wooden boats that were laden with 5000 litres of stolen crude oil.
