Luis Enrique Open to Future Barcelona Return Amid PSG Success

Luis Enrique

Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has expressed his openness to the idea of returning to the Camp Nou dugout in the future. However, he remains fully dedicated to his current role at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 53-year-old, renowned for guiding Barcelona to a historic treble in 2015, is currently focused on preparing PSG for an upcoming Champions League quarter-final showdown against his former club.

Amid widespread speculation suggesting he could be the preferred candidate of Barcelona director Deco to succeed Xavi as the next manager, Enrique’s ties to Barcelona have added fuel to the rumors.

Nevertheless, Enrique has made an impressive start to his tenure at PSG since his arrival last summer, with the club currently asserting dominance in Ligue 1.

During a candid Q&A session on his Twitch channel, Luis Enrique acknowledged the possibility of a return to Barcelona but stressed the complexities and considerations involved in such a decision.

“I have always said that I would like to [return], but the reality is that it is very complicated for paths to cross,” he stated.

“It is difficult to coincide in time. This summer, from what Xavi has said, they will need another coach, but I have a contract and my rule is to continue and be faithful to the people who trust me.”

He further elaborated, “Last summer, I was available, but they had a coach. This summer, they need a coach. It’s difficult for it all to line up.”
