Moses Simon, the winger for Nantes, is scheduled to undergo surgery for a fractured left ankle injury on Friday, following reports of sustaining the injury during Nigeria’s friendly match against Mali on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury after a collision with Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa in the first half of the game held at the Grande Stade de Marrakech.
Nantes confirmed on Wednesday that Moses Simon, known for his speed on the pitch, will miss the remainder of the season due to the injury, dealing a significant blow to the team’s efforts to avoid relegation.

Simon’s absence will be keenly felt by the Canaries, given his contributions throughout the current campaign, which include three goals and six assists.
Despite the setback, there is some consolation as Simon recently committed his future to Nantes by signing a new three-year contract with the club.
