NDDC: IYC Thumbs up Forensic Audit, Condemns Media Trial on Pondei | Daily Report Nigeria

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, has thrown it’s weight behind the ongoing forensic audit of financial activities in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

President of the IYC, Comrade Peter Igbifa who spoke on the subject over the weekend, echoed that the forensic audit should be allowed to go on as it is bound to reveal the true identity of those culpable and responsible for the underdevelopment of the Niger Delta region and chronic looting in the commission.

He further condemned the humiliating media trial of the Acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Prof Kemebradikumor Pondei and the Interim Management Committee (IMC), while urging Nigerians to support the forensic audit being carried out by the NDDC.

He expressed that this is the first time in history that a financial analysis of this magnitude is being carried out in the commission.

“We are patiently waiting for the result of the outcome of the audit and we believe it will expose those Who have been responsible for crippling the development of the region,” he noted.

Also speaking was the Spokesman of the IYC, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, who stated that “the whole of Niger Delta is depending on forensic audit to introduce reforms that will transform the NDDC so that it can transparently deliver its mandate, become more accountable and reduce corruption and bring speedy development to the Niger Delta.”
