On May 14, 2024, the 7th Assembly of the Ekeremor Local Government Legislative Arm convened for their inaugural plenary session at the legislative chamber in Ekeremor Town, the headquarters of Ekeremor Local Government.
The plenary fulfilled the requirements outlined in Section 14(4) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFRN) 1999 as amended, as well as Section 29(1), Section 33(2), and Section 34(1-4) of the Bayelsa State Local Government Law 2000 as amended.
Also, it adhered to Chapter 1, Paragraph 33(1) of the Handbook of Local Government Administration 1997.

During the session, the Assembly considered a letter from the Executive Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government, Hon Isaac Onniye, requesting the appointment of three Special Advisers and five Supervisory Councilors.

According to Onniye, the appointees will assist the Chairman in exercising the executive powers of the Local Government, either directly or indirectly.
Under the leadership of Hon Benni Sylvester, the 7th Assembly approved Onniye to proceed with his request.
The five approved Supervisory Councilors will be summoned to appear before the legislative chamber for screening at a later date, which will be communicated accordingly.
