Nigeria Decides: No Security at Peter Obi’s Polling Unit in Anambra

Checks revealed that there is no security at Amatutu village of Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

This came despite announcements of heavy deployment of security operatives in Anambra State by the state police command.

However, it was reported that there was a total absence of security operatives even at Agulu ward two, polling unit 019.

The state police command’s spokesperson in his reaction, however, said their operatives were deployed to the area.

Meanwhile, accreditation of voters had not started as of 8:48 am at some polling units in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State.

Affected polling units were 1 and 2, Atissa Ward 4; Fakulu Primary School, Epie Ward 3.

It was reported that sensitive materials were still being distributed from the RAC Atissa 1, Ward 1 to the polling units in the area as of 8:33 am.

Also, Independent National Electoral Commission officials and electoral materials were yet to arrive at some polling units while few voters and observers were seen waiting amidst tight security by policemen.

Policemen and soldiers also mounted checkpoints at sections of the deserted Mbiama-Yenagoa Road and the Isaac Boro Expressway in the Bayelsa State capital.
