Odogwu Calls For Harmony, Inclusiveness in Burutu PDP

Dr. Tam Godspower Odogwu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, has called for unity and inclusiveness in the party.

Odogwu, who is an aspirant for the Burutu chairmanship seat in the forthcoming election, said this in his new year message to leaders and the party.

The statement titled ‘New Year Message to the Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State’, reads in full;

“I wish you my elders and political leaders a very happy new and prosperous year 2024. May the light of the new year continue to brighten up the lives of our good people in Burutu Local Government and keep shinning upon its leadership across all spectrums. Amen

“Let me explore this seasonal opportunity to thank the leadership of our great part, the PDP in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State for unique and dynamic leadership so far provided which has manifested in continued unity and stability of the party in the Local Government and in Delta State in general.

“It is pertinent to state that shared quality leadership among the elders in the local governments’ of the PDP has continued to pay off since the inception of the current democratic dispensation in 1999 which has continued to manifest in PDP’s victories in all elections so far conducted in Delta State (with insignificant exemption of the 2023 presidential election).

“This leadership orientation was built by our fathers in the PDP on the strength that lies in unity and power that is inherent in doing justice to all groups within the political space through politics of inclusiveness.

“While appreciating the numerous achievements of the party father’s and leadership of the party in Burutu Local Government, particularly for the victory story of the last elections, I as well pray them to sustain the spirit of unity among various groups across the local government for greater achievements.

“As an aspirant for the chairmanship of the PDP in Burutu LGA, I enjoin fellow aspirants to always support the party leadership and work to sustain the principle of equity and fairness that has been the bedrock of our successes as a political party over the years.

“It is a great thing to have ambition as human being which the great Aristotle termed “zoom politikon” but it is a greater ambition to allow logic and rationality dictate how our ambitions lead us. This is at the core of leadership orientation.

“For the sake of emphasis and clarity, the People’s Democratic party’s chairmanship position by way of divine arrangement has favoured wards 1, 5, & 6 in Burutu South; the two wards that are yet to have their turn of the chairmanship of the PDP are Tamigbe ward 2 and Tuomo ward 3.

“And while, Tuomo ward 3 currently has the member representing Burutu 11 constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly; it is only fair and just that Tamigbe ward 2 be considered in the spirit of love, unity and inclusiveness for the chairmanship position of the PDP in Burutu Local Government. This is what is political, just, logical, rational, humane and fair.

“So, in the spirit of appreciating God for giving our great party, the PDP, in Burutu Local Government Area a remarkable and exceptional leadership, I also pray that God continue to keep them united with greater wisdom to make more just and fair decisions that will keep impacting positively on the lives of our dear people of Burutu Local Government Area and Delta State in general.

“Compliment of the new year season to our leaders, LGA party executives, ward excos and members of the PDP family in Burutu Local Government. PDP !!!! Power to the People!!!”
