Aiyedatiwa Withdraws Lawsuit Against Akeredolu, Assembly

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has withdrawn the lawsuit he filed to stop his impeachment by the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The suit was also against the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of Ondo State, the House of Assembly, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Department of State Services(DSS).

The withdrawal was announced on Monday during a hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Aiyedatiwa’s lawyer, Mr Ebun-olu Adegboruwa (SAN), informed the court that his client wished to drop the suit following the intervention of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the matter.

The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje had set up a reconciliation committee on October 6 to mediate the dispute between some of the parties to the suit.

The Ondo State House of Assembly had also written a petition to the National Judicial Council on October 3 against Justice Emeka Nwite, who was presiding over the case.

The suit was marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1294/2023.
