Henry Onyekuru

Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru is determined that his team, Al-Fayha, will adopt an aggressive approach in their quest for victory against Al-Nassr in the second leg of their AFC Champions League knockout fixture scheduled for Wednesday night.

Despite trailing from the first leg with a 1-0 defeat at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on February 14, Onyekuru is optimistic about their chances.

In that encounter, Cristiano Ronaldo, leading Al-Nassr, secured the lone goal in the 81st minute, continuing his mission to guide the club to their first Champions League title.

Onyekuru, who came on as a substitute in the first leg, and compatriot Anthony Nwakaeme, who played for the initial 75 minutes, are expected to play pivotal roles in the upcoming match, following their stellar performances over the weekend.

Their contributions were significant as Al-Fayha secured a 3-1 comeback win against Al Hazm in the Saudi League. Onyekuru netted twice, while Nwakaeme chipped in with a goal and two assists.

With this momentum, Al-Fayha aims to surprise Al-Nassr at the Al Awal Park at King Saud University, Riyadh, tonight. Onyekuru has issued a warning to Al-Nassr, signaling that they should be prepared for the unexpected.

Henry Onyekuru said:

“There is nothing impossible in football, and our goal is definitely to win,”

“We will face Al-Nassr, and our first goal is to win and play strong, and we must abandon caution in order to advance to the quarter-finals.

“It is true that Al-Nassr is a big team and has good elements, but we want to prove ourselves by winning.

“It does not matter who scores against Al-Nassr, the most important thing for me is to achieve victory and make the fans happy.”
