The administrator of the Presidential Amnesty programme, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro has assured stakeholders that his administration will operate an open door policy.

Otuaro gave the assurance during a meeting with phase one delegates of the Presidential Amnesty programme on Friday, Warri, Delta State.

Aside open policies, Otuaro promised to make things better for the delegates by way of making more opportunities available for them.

Citing the progresses the programme has made in the face of notable challenges, Otuaro said brainstorming with stakeholders was necessary to chart the way forward.

“I’m aware of the progress the programme has made on education, training and empowerment, but more planning and dialogue is required to move forward” Otuaro said.

He listed “manipulation of beneficiaries names, stoppage of training programmes due to COVID,
delay in payment of empowerment funds due to change of business names among challenges beneficiaries are faced with.”

Continuing, Otuaro said his reign will ensure delegates benefit more than the monthly N65,000.00 stipend.

He said, “this is the time to look beyond the N65,000.00 monthly stipend. Under my leadership, l want to provide more opportunities for our communities. We must organise ourselves.

“I know some of our people who have gotten training and education are doing well. My leadership will provide foreign and local educational and vocational training for delegates and critical stakeholders.

“We can do so to empower and make ourselves self-employed. This meeting will continue, it will be on a monthly or quarterly basis as agreed on. We must use the programme to empower our people.

“We must make things better for ourselves. I’m here to create opportunities for our people but not for any other thing. I thank you all for making today’s dialogue fruitful and successful”, he added.
