Ozobo Emerges President as Ijaw Publishers Forum Elects Executives

Foremost Niger Delta activist and publishers of Congress Newspaper, Comrade Austin Ozobo has been elected president of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, IPF.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the Ozobo-led Executive Committee was elected at the body’s maiden election on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State.

Aside Ozobo, other members of the newly elected IPF Executive Committee are;

Charles Oyinbi Onduku – Vice President

Tare Magbei – Secretary

Mingo Friday Saya – Treasurer,

ThankGod Mike Ugedi – Financial Secretary

Ezekiel Kagbala – Public Relations Officer (P.R.O).

Speaking after his election, Ozobo thanked God for the peaceful conduct of the election, promising to a notable legacy after his tenure in office.

The president called for synergy between stakeholders, leaders, government at all levels and multinational oil companies and others to continue to promote peace, security and development of the Niger Delta region.

Ozobo also appreciated the electoral committee led by Pastor Arex Akemeotubo, the CEO of Waffi TV for standing by their earlier promise of conducting free, fair and credible election.

A different date is expected to be announced for the inauguration of the executive committee.
