According to the Lugard Izoukumor, the Information Officer of IYC Western Zone, the event is “part of its commitment to advance the socioeconomic and sociopolitical progress of the Ijaw Nation, and to address the barriers of conflicts and give a framework to the trajectory of governance that will, in turn, culminate into development in our environment.

“The summit also aims at facilitating the harmonious relationship between stakeholders, Ijaw political leaders, and Ijaw youths to chart a collective path for sustainable development and for investors to have the confidence to invest in our areas.

“The summit will involve leaders from all works of life, Ijaw traditional rulers, Ijaw political leaders from the federal, state and local government across the Ijaw local government areas in Delta State, religious leaders and selected youth leaders across the eighteen (18) Ijaw kingdoms in Delta State.

“Also worthy to mention is that the program will feature an interactive session between Ijaw leaders and Ijaw youths, which will foster unity, map out strategic ideas and proffer far-reaching recommendations moving ahead.
