Recently, heavy rain in Onitsha exposed the substandard construction work done by the Anambra government.
The rain caused great damage to the Ochanja Market and other roads that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo had constructed just a week ago to showcase as one of his achievements after two years in office.
The Ochanja Market is located in the Woliwo Community in Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A viral video of the damage caused by the rain started trending on social media, showing the asphalts of the road washed away, with pieces scattered and water-logged in some parts of the road.

Mr Valentine Ozigbo, who is a stalwart of the Labour Party (LP) and former Governorship candidate in Anambra State, had previously raised concerns about the quality of the roads being constructed by Governor Soludo’s administration.
Ozigbo referred to the construction companies as “Soludo and Sons” referring to their lack of expertise.
Residents wondered how a 20-minute rainfall could have caused such massive damage to the road constructed barely a week ago, and what would happen to other roads constructed by the government during the rainy season.
