Seven Family Members, 17 Others Killed in Fresh Attacks in Kaduna

Seven members of the same family have been reportedly killed by gunmen during an attack on Sabon Birnin Birnin village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Seventeen other villagers were also slaughtered in other villages in the simultaneous attack that occurred on Monday night.

The bandits reportedly invaded the community in their large numbers and shot sporadically, killing the family members in the process.

The latest attack was confirmed by the Kaduna State Government Tuesday, January 4.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, while confirming the attack, said security agencies are already working assiduously to contain the attacks.

A community leader, Bello Musa, told Channels Television that many residents had fled their homes due to fears of being killed by the bandits.

Bello pleaded with the Federal Government to deploy more troops to Igabi and other troubled zones in Kaduna State, to protect the people from further attacks.

According to Bello, no fewer than 13 other villages in Kerawa Ward, Igabi Local Government Area, were attacked, killing at least 17 people.
