Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has expressed her gratitude to Nigerian artist Tems for paving the way for young African female musicians on the global stage.

Tyla praised Tems for her exceptional talent and spoke about her experience working with her on her self-titled debut album.

In a recent interview with Kiss Fresh in the UK, Tyla said, “Working with Tems is amazing. She is so talented. She is literally a force. I’m so honored to have worked with her. She has opened so many doors for us [young African female artists].”

Tems is featured on “Number 1,” a track from Tyla’s debut album, released earlier this month.
