With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the private sector, Ebie’s appointment brought a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the NDDC.

The 52-year-old stayed briefly in the legal department of Broad Bank of Nigeria and as general secretary of the parent company of one of the country’s major newspapers.

Ebie, thereafter, became a partner at the law firms Okonjo, Odiawa & Ebie, and Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors.

While with these companies, he also served as part-time CEO of Millennium Petroleum Company Limited, before moving to a full-time position.

He then assumed the position of CEO and CEO of Millennium Oil and Gas.

He also chaired a Nigerian hydrocarbon exploration and production company, with offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

The new NDDC boss was known to be extensively involved in the development of the above property, having executed the commercial production for the Oza property beginning in Q1 2015.

Aside the above, Ebie most notably served as Secretary to the State Government under former Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

He was kicked out of the Peoples Democratic in April 2023 over suspected anti-party activities.
