Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has announced that he has forgiven his late colleague Junior Pope for allegedly betraying him. Edochie recently claimed that despite treating Pope like a brother and supporting him, Pope had backstabbed him. This alleged betrayal was the reason Edochie did not mourn Pope’s death.

His statements drew criticism, including from his aunt, Rita Edochie, who reprimanded him for holding a grudge against the deceased actor. Despite this, Yul Edochie explained that while he was deeply hurt by Pope’s actions, he has now chosen to forgive him.

On his Instagram account, Edochie wrote, “Speaking about forgiveness. I forgive him completely. It hurts deeply when a friend you love, took like a brother, stood for and shown love over the years turns around to stab you in the back repeatedly without remorse.

“Sadly, that’s the world we live. Humans are filled with flaws. To err is human, to forgive is divine. I forgive him & wish his family the very best.”
