Serie A: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s Goal Record in Europe

AC Milan forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal record across the European top-five leagues for the 21st-century record.

The Swedish striker matched Ronaldo’s record on Sunday, after scoring a goal in his side’s Serie A 3-0 win over Venezia.

The 40-year-old tapped in from close range in what was is 8th goal of the current Seria A season.

Zlatan has therefore, now scored against 80 different football clubs across Europe’s big five leagues (Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, LaLiga and Ligue 1).

Only the Cristiano Ronaldo has managed that feat since 2000.The Portuguese striker set the record of most goals scored against teams in Europe’s top five leagues in December 30th, 2021, with a goal in United’s 3-1 win over Burnley at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic has also scored in every calendar year since 1999, when he made his debut for Malmo in the Swedish league.
