2 Killed as Gunmen Rob Banks in Kogi

In a tragic attack, armed gunmen struck two commercial banks in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The robbery attack occurred around 5 pm on Thursday, resulting in the loss of two lives.

The rubbers targeted First Bank, Access Bank, and a local police station.

According to reports, the casualties included a policeman identified as Idoko who lost his life during the attack on the police station.

Another victim was one Alagama, a man known for selling small items at a roundabout in Anyigba. He was tragically killed by a stray bullet.

The gunmen targeted a bullion van belonging to Access Bank, disarming security personnel and making off with all the money.

Another group of assailants raided First Bank, escaping with an unspecified amount of cash.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, remained unresponsive despite attempts to reach him via calls and texts.
