Sky Sports Bags Bundesliga  Coverage Rights

The Bundesliga begins on Friday, August 13, and Champions Bayern Munich will travel to Borussia Monchengladbach before Erling Haaland’s Borussia Dortmund take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday at 5.30pm.

With this latest development, football fans can now watch their favorites like  Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and Robert Lewandowski on SkySports. 

Teams will look forward to battling the 30-time Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich for the title.

Sky Sports will cover the Opening league match from 7:30 pm on Friday, August 13, as the reigning champions Bayern Munich travel to face Borussia Monchengladbach. 

Haaland’s Borussia Dortmund take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday at 5:30 pm.

The latest right is not limited to the Bundesliga only; the other rights package includes access to the German Super Cup. It is an early ‘Klassiker’ match-up, with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich going head-to-head on August 17, live on Sky Sports.

There will be a live broadcast of the premium fixture every Saturday at 5.30 pm on Sky Sports Football. Other Sky Sports  linear or digital channels will also air these fixtures, including Sky Sports YouTube.

 In his statement, the Sky Sports managing director, Jonathan Lich, said they’re happy to have gotten the rights to the Bundesliga. Here is an opportunity for their customers to watch some of the best players in the world with other European players inclusive.

This right is a four-year agreement that allows increasing their football offering in the UK & Ireland. 

Already, Sky Sports airs the Premier League, EFL, Scottish Premiership, FA Women’s Super League, and International actions such as  World Cup Qualifiers.

Bundesliga International CEO, Robert Klein was also delighted about the partnership.  He believes that it will deliver the best of the Bundesliga week-in, week-out through world-class production and multi-platform coverage. All these are from a broadcaster with a long record of initiating a remarkable viewing experience.

 

Bundesliga Opening weekend fixtures are;

On Friday, August 13, 2021, Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Bayern Munich kick-off starts at 7.30 pm, live on Sky Sports Football.

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, There would be four simultaneous kick-offs at 2.30 pm, Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen, Arminia Bielefeld vs SC Freiburg, Augsburg vs Hoffenheim, Stuttgart vs. Greuther Furth, and Wolfsburg vs. Bochum.

 Then 5.30 pm,Borussia Dortmund vs. Eintracht Frankfurt starts. All these are live on Sky Sports Football.

On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Mainz vs. RB Leipzig kick-off at 2.30 pm. Then, Cologne vs. Hertha Berlin  Kick-starts 4.30 pm.

Other headline rights apart from football include cricket’s newest format, The Hundred. At the same time, England welcomes India and Pakistan for international cricket this summer.

 Formula One sees the second half of the season. It is to get underway with the Belgian GP from August 27, while golf sees Ryder Cup action live from Whistling Straits and the 17th edition of the Solheim Cup.
