Mr. Kalada Belema Meshack-Hart, Executive Director, National Council For Women Societies, NCWS, has praised Benue State First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, for encouraging female aspirants vying for elective positions ahead of the state’s 2023 general elections.

Mrs. Ortom, recall, hosted the Forum of Female Aspirants on the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, ticket at the new banquet hall of government house, Makurdi, where she emphasized the need for women to be adequately equipped to compete with their male counterparts as the 2023 polls approach.

Mr. Meshack-Hart, in response to the development, told journalists at a surprise birthday party thrown for him by some women that women seeking elective positions need financial and other support.

“Women are the builders of homes and, by extension, of society,” he continues, “so it’s best to put them in leadership positions in order for society to move forward.”

He urged other First Ladies and female officeholders in the country to follow in the footsteps of the Benue First Lady.

Mr. Meshack-Hart, while praying to God to bless the Governor’s wife for always carrying women along, emphasized the importance of female inclusion in politics.

He urged female voters to line up behind female candidates during elections, emphasizing that women are more familiar with the need of other women.

He urged female candidates to always rally around women and women’s friends in order to gain the support and confidence of female voters.

Meshack-Hart expressed gratitude to God on his birthday for adding another year to his years of service to women.

“Thank you, God, for another year.” “It’s a chance to continue serving women,” he said.

“My life’s mission is to empower women and girls.”

As the saying goes, “empowering women empower society,” he added.
