Nigerian singer, Naira Marley had reacted to the passing of his former signee, Mohbad.

On his official Instagram account, Naira Marley conveyed his sorrow through the use of ‘heartbreak’ emoticons, expressing his deep grief over Mohbad’s untimely demise.

Mohbad passed away at the age of 27.

The news of his death was confirmed by his management team in a statement on social media.

Music executive, Ovie also shared the sad news on Twitter on Tuesday evening

Ovie said:

Confirmed. Mohbad is dead. Sad, sad day. R.I.P.”

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was born on June 8, 1996, in Lagos State, Nigeria.

He gained immense popularity in 2020 after releasing his hit song “Ko Por Ke (KPK)” featuring Rexxie.

He has also released other songs such as “Balan Zia Gar,” “Backside”, and “Feel Good.”

He was among the fast-rising artistes in the Nigerian music industry and collaborated with notable Nigerian artists such as Davido and Lil Kesh.

Mohbad owned a record label called Imolenization and was previously signed to Naira Marley’s record label, Marlian Record.

His debut album “Light” was released on December 18, 2020.
