Burkina Faso last night saw Gabon out of the ongoing African Cup Of Nations, AFCON on penalties.

The Stallions beat Gabon7-6 on penalties at Stade Limbe to ensure dumping out the opponent out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Panthers had been reduced to ten-man since the 67th minute of the game.

Sidney Obissa from Burkina Faso got his first yellow card in the 16th minute and was sent off the pitch after having received the second yellow card.

Yet, Gabon’s Adama Guira scored a own-goal with a header to level the match during the injury time.

Both teams progressed from the group stage but Gabon could not make it beyond the round of 16 of the competition.

Following the victory, Kamou Malo’s men have reached the quarter final of the 33rd edition of AFCON.

Meanwhile, the leaders of Group ‘D’ at the group stage, Nigeria was also belted by Tunisia in a 1-0 victory that same night.

Alex Iwobi from Super Eagles was also red-carded in the 66th minute, seven minutes after he came onto the pitch to replace Kelechi Iheanacho.
