Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has overtaken John Mikel Obi to become the fourth-highest capped Nigerian player in Premier League history.

Iwobi and Mikel were previously tied with 249 Premier League appearances each. However, Iwobi made his 250th appearance in Fulham’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday, breaking the tie.

The 27-year-old, who played the entire 90 minutes in the match, now sets his sights on overtaking Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who is currently in third place with 252 Premier League appearances.
