Another inmate who escaped from the Kuje Custodial Centre identified as Kazeem Murtala has been recaptured by police operatives in Suleja.
According to a statement by Niger Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the 54-year-old man was arrested around 10.30 pm on Saturday in a compound in Bakasi area, Suleja based on credible intelligence.
During interrogation, the inmate confessed that he escaped from Kuje Custodial Centre when terrorists attacked the facility.

He added that he had been in the custody for the past two years after being convicted for a crime he committed.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, who commended the efforts of the patrol team, appreciated members of the public for providing the intelligence that led to the capture of the inmate.
The statement added the inmate has been transferred to the custodial centre as directed by the Commissioner of Police.
