Bako Amgbashim: Police Arrest 6 Suspects Behind Rivers DPO’s Murder

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with the murder of the late Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of Ahoada Police Station, SP Bako Angbashim.

The Command made the arrest during an operation at Odumude community in Ahoada East Local Government Area aimed at recovering the body of the late DPO.

The operation was led by the state Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, and resulted in the recovery of locally manufactured pistols and various amulets.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed in a statement that the suspect and the seized items were in police custody.

Koko added that the suspects were currently interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Port Harcourt.

She mentioned that as a result of the development, residents of Odumude community were evacuated from the area.

A new DPO, SP Zuokumor Richard has been assigned to the Ahoada division.

The statement revealed that Richard was accompanied by half the troops from Mopol 48, one-third of her troops from Mopol 19 and 56, and a tactical team.

The report added that Richard was tasked with conducting a thorough search of the area, arresting the perpetrators responsible for the DPO’s death, recovering the body, and discovering all weapons used.
