Akpos Malafakumo, a Bayelsa-born scrabble queen will be playing in the World Scrabble Championship in the United States, US come June 2023.
This was after she displayed outstanding skill in the National Sports Festival amassing a total of four medals, two gold, and two silver.
Malafakumo in an interview said she was elated with the news of her invitation after her brilliant outing at the National Sports Festival in Asaba Delta State.

According to her, she is focused on qualifying for the championship.
The young lady hails from Peretorugbene in the Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
Findings revealed that she was crowned the best female scrabble player in Bayelsa State in 2021.
