BREAKING: Gunmen Attack Police Checkpoint, Set Patrol Van Ablaze in Enugu

Gunmen in the early hours of Friday June 17, attacked a police checkpoint in the Nsukka area of Enugu State.

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the gunmen set a patrol van at the checkpoint ablaze.

The incident which happened at Umeano Junction, Ibagwa-Ani, Nsukka local government area, left residents of the area in grave fear.

An eyewitness, Reuben Eze said;

“The unknown gunmen visited the police check point at Umeano junction, shot one police officer and set their vehicle ablaze. I was going to Nkwo Ibagwa when I heard a bang at the junction. Suddenly, the police men at the junction started running away and before you know it, their vehicle was set ablaze.

“There is virtually nobody on the road now even as today is Nkwo market day of the community” Eze added.
